Export
The manage export page allows the content of the blog to be exported into an xml file. All information is exported, including posts, pages, comments, custom fields and categories.
Go to Manage>>Export to access the admin page.
Before exporting make sure to delete all spam comments or comments that are being held in moderation. If using a plugin such as Spam Karma 2, comments in moderation can build up very quickly and result in a huge exported file. Deleting all spam comments will keep the size of the file down to what is needed.
The Restrict Author option restricts the export to the posts of selected authors. This can be useful if one author on a multi-author blog moves from a shared environment and wants to move their personal posts and pages over to a new blog.
Click on “Download Export File >>” to download and save the file. This file can also be used as a backup of your site, but a backup using your webhost’s site backup tools is recommended.
Choose where to save the file and you’re done.
