Files

The Manage File menu is for editing files on the server. It is not for managing uploaded pictures and files, but has to do with editing any text file on the server. By default most servers will not allow this action and setting files permissions to those recommended for editing (CHMOD 666) leaves files highly susceptible to hacking and editing from outside parties. Using an FTP client to download, change, then upload files is the recommended method, or using a terminal window if you’re comfortable with that (I’m not).

The Manage Files menu is found in Manage->Files.

The file being edited is shown at the top of the page, and below that is the editing area.

The list of links on the right hand side indicates files that have been recently edited, and files that are commonly edited.

The section at the bottom of the page allows other files to be edited. Simply enter the name of the file (including directory) to edit it.

Enter the file name.

Click Edit file >> to edit it.
