There are countless plugins and themes which all offer to help with your search engine optimisation and many of them can make a real difference to your sites rankings when used properly. As of posting this my current favourite is a combination of the Genesis Framework from StudioPress with the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin.
The problem with all of these however is that if you ever decide, or need to, change which theme you use, or if the plugin doesn't work with your new theme, then you are stuck with all of your SEO settings captured in your old setup. Luckily Nathan Rice of StudioPress has developed a plugin that allows you to transport SEO data between all of the major SEO plugins and theme frameworks.
